Testing before deployment

I want to know if there is a way to test below 2 items before deploying them to production.

1. Whether the code is having any build errors
2. How the message format in the comment will look when actually posted on Reddit.

For 1., I tried below and the got result as shown. Any idea how this can be solved such that the compilation can be checked locally?

For 2., currently when I want to test anything, I am limiting the bots scope to only 1 testing specific sub. And then posting/commenting the trigger word "Maharashtrian" to do an actual run of the bot. But that is somewhat tedious and time consuming. Is there any simpler and faster way?

For 1. It seems like dotenv module is not installed on your local system to install a specific module you can run
pip install <module_name> here It should be pip install python-dotenv
To install all required modules for this bot run pip install -r requirement.txt, It will install all modules in requirement.txt file.

For 2. We need someone's help, who can write test suites for this bot using pytest or any other testing framework.

1. Installed the packages and that issue is gone. Now getting below error, which I think is due to the missing secrets stored in heroku. I'll try to fix this later.

praw.exceptions.MissingRequiredAttributeException: Required configuration setting 'client_id' missing. 
This setting can be provided in a praw.ini file, as a keyword argument to the `Reddit` class constructor, or as an environment variable.

2. Ok. I will create an issue for this. It would great if you could populate it with the details. 😃

1. Create a .env file in the root directory like the .env.example file e.g. cp .env.example .env and copy paste all secret key, client id, username, password etc.
   .env file already mentioned in .gitignore so it won't push.
