Help With Installation - Instructions are very brief

Can someone please assist me with using this plugin? I can't help but think that increasing the installation instructions from three sentences to six sentences would make it much clearer..

and then add pandoc path to environment variable PATH or set absolute path of pandoc in the plugin setting view.

I downloaded and ran the .msi file from Pandoc so I believe I have it installed, but what is the "pandoc path"? I don't see Pandoc folders in my Program Files. Also, I don't know what an environment variable is or what adding a path to that even means. Am I meant to change something in the "Advanced" section of the settings? How is this "Advanced" if it's part of the installation process?

If I have the option to just add the path to the "Pandoc path" at the top of the settings, then why would I need to do anything to an environment variable, and why is the advanced part of the installation choices stated first?

Regardless, I searched for pandoc, found it in AppData, and specified the path to the pandoc.exe in the Pandoc path option in the settings:
C:\Users\MYNAME\AppData\Local\Pandoc\pandoc.exe

But when I try to export a note as a docx, the result is not formatted at all. It's just a wall of text. So I've done something wrong.

If you get a docx file out, then Pandoc is definitely running.
