Parsing invalid tags

I watched this YT video recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUtkW2gjC8Q, it is about sanitizers and their handing of invalid tags. It is basically about https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/parsing.html#parse-error-invalid-first-character-of-tag-name

So I tried it against Mojo::DOM. Well it at least treats it as text, but shouldn't the </22> be parsed as a comment per the spec.

Example:

#!/usr/bin/perl
use Mojo::Base -strict,-signatures;
use Mojo::DOM;
say Mojo::DOM->new('<22>test</22>');

which gives the output

<22>test</22>

I would have expected

&lt;22&gt;test<!-- 22 -->
