This plugin was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I can't make it run on my Linux machine. Is it OSX only? Nothing happens when I select template I want to use. It doesn't ask for arguments nor anything. It just closes command menu.

hmm, didn't try it yet on linux to be honest.
I don't have any linux machine to test it currently.
Does the log/console say anything suspicious?

Sorry for taking long time to respond! Actually it does:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "./FileTemplates.py", line 106, in template_selected
File ".\xml\etree\ElementTree.py", line 862, in parse
File ".\xml\etree\ElementTree.py", line 581, in parse
File ".\xml\etree\ElementTree.py", line 1118, in __init__
ImportError: No module named expat; use SimpleXMLTreeBuilder instead

Do you think it would be an easy thing to fix? I googled a bit, but as I have no real experience in python it's all a bit "alien" to me. Link that seems to have something to do with it:

Is there very different between Linux and OSX ?
I'll maybe try something with your sources.
