What happened?

Previously, I was able to search in the side-by-side comparsion of files that appears when you click on an entry in the "Timeline" section for a notebook, but now it doesn't work. It still works for normal Python files, however.

Please can you define what you mean by search. Ie what functionality are you referring to?
Perhaps a screenshot of what's missing world help

I can only do searches in a side-by-side with normal scripts, not notebooks, for some reason.
