Dears

I need to derive natural dust component from an EMEP run result
in particular, I want to know the part of PM2.5 concentrations that is related to natural dust

there are various variables in EMEP output related to natural dust and PM2.5, as:

  • SURF_ug_DUST_WB_F
  • SURF_ug_DUST_SAH_F
  • SURF_ug_DUST_NAT_F

which one (or sum of these ones) shoudl I consider, for this?

thanks

In principle, SURF_ug_DUST_NAT_F should be the sum of SURF_ug_DUST_WB_F and SURF_ug_DUST_SAH_F.
In the latest model version, dust from BICs (SURF_ug_DUST_SAH_F) would probably be zero as BICs are added directly to SURF_ug_DUST_WB_F (windblown dust)
