Looks like some very weird interaction with auto-formatter.

Copy and paste is also wonky sometimes.

We're using Behave...
it hasn't been updated in a few years, and has a (small) handful of open issues, including one for this (jakiestfu/Behave.js#11).

I don't have time/desire to debug what appears to be an unmaintained third-party plugin,
but I put a Settings link in the left sidebar so you can disable the editor features if that works better for you.
