Description

In China, access to chocolately and GitHub is limited, they are never accessible in some areas, and in some areas they are only good or bad.

Every time I've helped my friend deploy in China I've gotten stuck at the Revision Tool installation stage, and I've had to ask him to unplug his cable to keep the progress bar moving, and finally install Revision Tool manually

I highly doubt we will add support for offline deployment in near future.

Whenever we release a new playbook update, the apbx file must be verified by the AME team. Once it's verified, there are cases where some serious problems occur and waiting for the team members to verify the file again and again is very time consuming. Therefore, our approach is to move a lot of tweaks from here to the Revision Tool repository and if the same thing occurs, we will push updates in Revision Tool instead. Finally, if we also support it, Revision Tool might also end up broken in the offline version.

To address the issue, perhaps, we can consider using https://codeberg.org/ or exploring alternative solutions as a fallback option that works in China.

Can an offline version be made? In the area where I am, I cannot connect to the server to download files and cannot deploy
