seems the examples folder are still reliable... but would be good to see a "migration" input from old version to the newer one.

This repository is dead Is untouched for 2 years minimun. Maybe a fork and a new maintainer is needed.
I have a fork with the code updated for 7.4 https://github.com/marioquartz/PHPThumb
But I lack knowledge about PHP and github
