It would be nice to have an easy way to update the app (or check for updates). In the mean time.
Include a link in the app that can be clicked to go to the site to check/grab updates (in the main window, or preferences pane, or About modal for instance).
Give the package names a friendly name too (ie MacOS Intel, MacOS Apple Silicon, Windows, etc etc) so it is easier for non technical users to know which one they should download.

Sorry for taking a while to get back to you! I was on vacation and then moved house when I got back so I'm a little bit behind on correspondence.
I definitely need to do a better job of making downloads easier to find. One thing at least would be providing downloads via the website that just points to whatever the latest version is.
Ideally, the actual desktop app would support this which I've done some experiments with that I shelved and never got back to since it was pretty fiddly to test. I should really get back to it though.
As for the naming of the packages, they're named like that partly for convenience given those are the "real" names that each system uses (ie; arm64 instead of Silicon) but as a human user trying to pick a download, it kinda sucks and yeah, the target audience is less technical users.
It might be a bit of wrangling to change it at this point as Homebrew and some other things are set up to expect that naming so I think having a note on the releases + download links on the website with better names for humans should cover it.
Anyway, it'll probably be a while before I get back to development as I don't currently have a table in my new place to put my development machine on and my usual development laptop is currently out on loan so most of my side projects are on hiatus a bit until I get set up back, hah.
