Hello! I just discovered MarkdownJournal.com and love the idea of it, but I get an Internal Server Error when I click the Save to Dropbox button. I tried with and without a config.yml file, but don't know what could cause this.
Thanks!
Phil

Thanks.

Are you by chance using non-English encoding or characters? Might be same issue as Issue #18

Could you provide sample text that causes error so I can try to replicate? Also could you note down time and date you got the error last so I can dig through the logs?

Thanks,

I'm getting the same thing. Just signed up and get the error when saving. Not using any special characters and fails with any text i tried.

Text used: "Test"
Approximate time and date: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html?iso=20170813T091300&p1=69

Same here. I also got the error when hitting the "Write" button. Then all of a sudden it worked. Now getting the error when trying to save.

The app seems to be entirely broken :-(

I have finally figured out the problem.

Quick workaround to get it working again is to create a config.yml file in your MakdownJounral folder and then add timezone:

timezone: America/New_York

Use one of the values listed here:

https://github.com/maciakl/MarkdownJournal/wiki/Timezones

I will try to fix it shortly.

@maciakl what was the cause for the error? I just discovered your project and am a fan, but am getting the same issue. would be interested in helping if there's something straightforward to contribute.
EDIT: I also added the config.yml file in the dropbox file and added timezone: America/New_York and it appears to work

I tried the above and still get this error.. any chance to resolve? Have been using this for over five years now :)
