Redirect user back to the page from which sign in was initiated

With the basic Lucia set up after sign-in user is just redirected to the root page.
But it would have been nice if instead it redirected to the initially requested page - user tried to access his friend page, got redirected to signin and afterwards he gets redirected back to the friend page.
Since .getAuthorizationUrl() method on auth providers doesn't take any arguments it doesn't seem like I can just add this data to my state param.
Is there a pattern recommended by Lucia here? Keep it in a second cookie alongside oauth state?
