Introducing Selective Posting in Chat

I'm not sure if this is currently possible, but as far as I understand, when you use a predefined shortcut, it automatically enters and posts the corresponding prompt. However, I'm wondering if it would be possible to have certain prompts only appear in the message bar without being automatically entered, so that I can add my own content occasionally.

Again, not sure if it's just my ignorance showing here but would be awesome to have this feature.
