I'm using Garuda Linux (Arch linux with some extras) in X11 KDE and tried the release version and then the git version of this driver and the associated tablet driver utility. As far as I can tell, both versions respond in the same manner.
Both appear to recognise the tablet and pen position digitisation, 'click', pressure sensitivity, and the 2 pen button's default mappings all work,
However, none of the K1-K6 buttons do anything, and neither does the rotary scroller thing
This is the output from running the driver daemon, then opening the driver utility, refreshing the list, changing and saving the mapping trivially, and closing the utility.

After this, I test the tablet with Krita, the pen digitisation works (including pressure variability) but the buttons and wheel do not respond. I open a text editor, press all of the buttons which are mapped to letters, no letters result.
Is there something I should be checking in my environment? Please ask for any details necessary for troubleshooting I have missed.
