The first and best one I have in mind is the expanded range of light that can be saved
JXL when storing images can store greater ranges then the typical 0.0 -> 1.0 range unlike formats such as PNG. This means applications that create digital imagery can store a far greater range.

By encoding this wide luminance range as JXL and PNG, you can then modify the images exposure showcasing the resutling photos
