Please make changes to behavior of DEBUG window? #18

Possible changes that would make the previously mentioned :debug behavior more tolerable:

Would it be possible to have the debug window NOT show the "hey this is a special window, you can close it?" so I can see the status bar.
Perhaps have a tunable to /set debug off and have it stay off, or be redirected to a file, instead of something so UI-disruptive?
