I would like to propose the addition of an app store or comprehensive documentation and guidance for creating connectors within HyperSwitch. This feature would enable the community to build and share their own connectors, such as gateways, independently, enhancing the platform’s flexibility and scalability.
Motivation:
Enabling the community to create and share connectors will provide several significant benefits:
Increased Flexibility: Merchants can quickly integrate new payment gateways and processors that meet their specific needs.
Community Contributions: Leveraging the collective expertise of the community can lead to innovative solutions and faster implementation of connectors.
Scalability: An app store or repository of connectors will allow HyperSwitch to scale more effectively by accommodating a wide range of payment solutions.
Use Case:
As a merchant using HyperSwitch, I need to integrate with various payment gateways that may not yet be supported by the core platform. With the ability to build and share connectors, I can either develop these integrations myself or find existing connectors created by other community members.
Proposed Solution:
Implement an app store or repository for community-built connectors, along with detailed documentation and guidelines for creating and integrating these connectors:
App Store/Repository: A platform where users can upload, share, and download connectors.
Comprehensive Documentation: Detailed guidelines and best practices for building connectors, including coding standards, security considerations, and integration steps.
