Horizontal scroll bar behavior in single line cell #2432
Comments
Is that in Chrome? It looks similar to an issue that's cropped up occasionally for ages. 😞 |
Noooo, not this bug again! @nickgravish what browser version and OS version? Do you have a high-DPI display and/or multiple displays or switching between a laptop and external monitor? If this is macOS, what's the value for |
Has there been any progress on this? I experience a similar issue where the horizontal scroll bar remains despite removing the cursor from the cell. The only way to get rid of the scroll bar is to cut and repaste the cell. This happens for both single line cells and multiple lines, but I thought it may be related. I am on Mac and Chrome, with the "Automatic" setting for "Show scroll bars". |
I get this issue as well, Macbook Air 2013, OSX 10.13.6 Seems that refreshing the window returns behavior to normal, I'm trying to figure out what scenarios I encounter the problem. |
Same here, Mac OS 10.14.2, Google Chrome 71.0.3578.98, "Show scroll bars" in system settings set to auto. |
Same here, Mac OS 10.13.6, Version 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit) |
This is really annoying me. |
This is also happening to me with Mac OSX 10.12.6 with Google Chrome Version 73.0.3683.103 (Official Build) (64-bit). The last row of Jupyter cells were very difficult to click on, because the scroll bar went over the text. Changing the "Show scroll bars" setting from "Automatic" to "When scrolling" solved the problem for me, as now the scroll bar disappears and is only visible when scrolling. |
Experiencing the same bug in Opera 62. Seems to be a general Chromium issue. |
Happening to me in Firefox too, also a Mac |
Also experiencing this in FIrefox, Mac 10.13.6 |
Is there any progress on this? This is a really bad experience. |
This is solved in JupyterLab and will be solved in the future Notebook v7 release. For more information about this new release, checkout the Notebook v7 Enhancement Proposal. |
this seems to be a problem specific to macos. Is there an ETA on the release date of v7?
|
No precise ETA yet. But there will be more information in #6307 when this becomes more clear. |
I just got this too. |
In Jupyter notebook 5.0 I now see slightly annoying behavior of horizontal scroll bar in single line cells where scroll bar overshadows cell text and is hard to edit.
Example shown in image above
