Debugging iOS Safari (when all you have is a Mac) - Josh Collinsworth blog

Debugging iOS Safari is a challenge (and possibly expensive) when you don't have access to an iPhone. Here are a few options to get around that problem.

Great article, very relevant and still holds true! I've installed macOS on Windows in a VirtualBox, but it's a nightmare to set up and runs too slowly to be usable. Because WebKit is so damn buggy (it can ruin your day), I ended up buying a second-hand iphone, and will have to get a macbook too. From a developer's perspective, Apple is easy to despise. While chrome's browser is vastly superior and more reliable, Apple's hardware has the edge and people seem to either love or accept to be trapped in its ecosystem. It is what it is.

You can emulate all iOS devices in Chrome Dev Tools too, admittedly without the Safari chrome.
