get rid of "first state", "intermediate state" etc. from encoding tab panel

As discussed with Christina:
3 shapes are not necessary when no groups are mapped
shapeBy 'none' and one circle should be displayed

also provide tooltips to give more information

also other labels of features - sometimes technical, sometimes general instead of domain-specific because it is taken from PSE/CIME.
