Reported by @adf-ncgr (thanks!)

Example: gene locus Medtr7g133020 (from Mt3.5) is not currently stored in the MTGD Chado. Searching for it within the Drupal/Tripal search interface (http://medicagogenome.org/searchLocus?type_id=2&name=Medtr7g133020) produces an empty results page, without any error message or indication of what has happened. This behavior can confound an end user.

Possible solutions:

  • Display an appropriate error message for queries that make use of deprecated identifiers
  • Store all deprecated identifiers (from older annotation versions) in the database so that the search query brings back results
