26.12.20 build

After creating another company in singleplayer, i tried to switch (easy money source from takeovers. Creativity requires cash, you know...). Menu switch didn't work, no response at all. Then i tried to do misc. building menu switch, and suddenly crash occured (27.12 build update - same thing, no response). Two cases so far.

I totally don't think it's savegame-related. Tho it doesn't always come up, at least no issues with background demo so far.

Otherwise i would like to note VERY long loading times. Almost like freeze, except moving window around a bit kinda "wakes up" the game, but it might be placebo. Also 27.12 build was shipped with third simutrans executable, never touched this.

Win7 64 bit (game too)

Thank you for letting me know. Does the sequence that you describe reliably cause a crash? I am only able to try to fix problems if I am able reliably to reproduce them.

Okay, i tried to catch it within save just now. Almost did it, it crashed shortly after i saved it.

So, i created fresh map, spent some time on it creating simple cargo line (doesn't seem to reproduce just after creation), then created company, allowed takeover and tried to switch from misc. menu. And yes, it crashed.
The funny thing is, i tried to reproduce it again after loading and either my algorithm was wrong or stars didn't align, it didn't reproduce.

Then i tried to reload same save, and... it crashed!

I'm afraid there's no 100% reliable way to reproduce it, but looks pretty easy to do so. I hope i covered everything i did.

Ironically, i'll be glad to know if you got any crashes, since i'm getting anxious over inability to make it 100% reproducable

I will not have a chance to look into this until I get back home in the new year.

Heh, okay. Happy New Year to you then

So, latest version crashes under same consequences... At least loads fast as before.

Also, pak info doesn't show up in save screen. And that third executable is still being shipped for some reason.

Are these separate reports? It is very difficult to parse reports without each being in a separate message with a reproduction case for each.

I should note that I use the forum to keep track of bugs, so contacting me with bug reports other than on the forum in circumstances where I am not immediately able to fix the bugs as I am away from home means that I am likely to forget about these reports when I am home; it also means that other developers, who may be responsible for the code in which the problem arose and may be better able to fix it then I, will not see the report.

Is this definitely related to takeovers?
There seems to be a bug crashing the game when using the shift+p (switch to next player) hotkey in general.
It's difficult to reproduce reliably though. Newly loaded games don't seem to be affected, but after the game was running for a while, this crash will appear quite often.
Further note: switching players using the player list does not crash the game.
