Summary Description

in gdb "x/c" command shows the hex value as well as its ascii encoding while if using gef it only shows the hex value

Implementation idea/suggestion

i would like to see also the ascii encoding with the x/c command

Your issue comes from a default GDB setting set output-radix 0x10 that starts with GEF.
Feel free to comment this line, or reset to the normal value (set output-radix 0x10)
