The Idea

Invite famous speakers like José Valim, Saša Jurić, and others.

Why?

The talks from big Elixir influencers will attract much interest in our local community. Many people will show up and get motivated.

What I need from the orga

At first nothing. Maybe if anyone has experience in such events, can share what costs are involved. What do speakers want?
Then before we invite anyone, we need to think of a bigger venue, etc.

I want to help with this, what can I do?

Great! So in order to make this happen. Someone needs to take care of the following:

  • Contact potential speakers (see previous comments) and see if they'd be in and coordinate a date. Preferably on the last Tuesday of a month, but for big names, we'd make an exception.
  • Check travel reimbursement options
    • maybe their company can do it (easy option)
    • find a local company that'd combine this with a private session/consulting
  • Find a big enough venue as I would expect way more people than usual (the regular orgas can help with that)

We've done this once many years ago in #28 and also have #20 as a potential format to support this.
