Hello all hackseq organizers,

During hackseq18, the organizers decided to create a hackseq oranizer's wiki containing all the necessary information for future organizers.

The goals are three-fold:

  1. Make the organization of all future hackseq stream-lined / easier.
  2. Establish an institutional memory as we turn-over
  3. Allow for other people to easily 'clone' hackseq as a model for genomics hackathons.

Can you please take ~30 minutes to review the section of the wiki of your past organizational role and make amendments/suggestions.

Also, we discussed planning for another hackseq publication after the 5th hackseq (2020) and the organizers from all 5 years can be co-authors as we do a longitudinal / reflective analysis of running a genomics hackathon for that many years. If you're interested in helping out with this let me know.

Hi Artem, are we still going for a hackseq18 publication or is the plan to combine all 5 years into a 2020 report? I am interested in helping out either way!

Hey @NoushinN, we weren't sure what we'd write about a hackseq18 publication but in discussing it the idea came up of doing a reflective paper at the 5 year mark. Our job is to start compiling the information for this and planning ahead a bit more long-term.
