Acknowledgments
Please check the following boxes with an x if they apply:

  • The feature I want to propose would be useful for the majority of users, not only for me personally.
  • I am aware that Transportr is mostly developed by one person in their unpaid spare time.
  • I can help myself to get this feature implemented or know someone who wants to do it.
  • If I want to add support for a new region or country, I checked that this is already available in public-transport-enabler and know the process described on the Transportr homepage.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I'm always frustrated when I pan around the map, and am unable to quickly and accurately get back to my current position, especially in places I don’t know.

Describe the solution you'd like
A "Show current position" button that would scroll the map back to the current position (like OsmAnd or pretty much all navigation maps)

Describe alternatives you've considered
None.
It’s such a common and expected feature that I’m puzzled why it doesn’t exist yet

Additional context
Workaround:
Zoom out until you can see your current position, swipe the map to center it to your position, then zoom in again.
It’s slow and inaccurate.

This button already exist, although it might not be intuitive enough: you need to drag down the bottom drawer:

Thank you, this is indeed quite obscure. :)

What about keeping that button (and also add zoom in/out ones) on the main screen?
I understand that they would take some screen real estate, but it’s an expected feature in navigation apps.
