When a user creates an account, it's key they start create content in Gospeak so they see its value and keep using it. Onboarding should be like a story for the user, adapted to his needs/profile.

Possible steps:

  • create account screen (using nice split page to highligh Gospeak features or spirit)
  • Nice meeting you, please fill a bit more info (avatar, title, bio, company, location; possible multiple screen)
  • What brought you here? (attendee, speaker or orga), used to choose next onboarding steps, can be set and skipped with an url param from specific create account pages
  • for attendees :
    • subscribe to video newsletter?
    • join some groups
  • for speakers :
    • beginner or experimented?
    • beginner :
      • what are your interest topics (create draft talks, only titles)
      • getting started text with more articles
      • look for mentors
      • announce your new resolution: "New challenge, I decided to become a speaker"
      • look for CFPs
    • experimented :
      • want to become a mentor?
      • improve your speaker profile, add your past talks
      • show your actual talks
      • promote your profile: "Yeah, I now have my speaker profile!"
      • look for CFPs
    • add your social profiles
  • for orgas :
    • already have a meetup group? Import it (or create your group manually)
    • invite other orgas
    • create a CFP
    • create an Event and publish it
    • setup integrations (slack, twitter...)

As an example, https://mention.com does a really great job a it:
