Failing placeholder horizontal positioning

Load the page in IE8 (that's the one I can confirm misbehaves) and adjust the width of the window.

I cannot reproduce it in the "official" online demos, so there is obviously something in my lay-out that triggers this problem.

I verified that it's not:

• the fact that I put the label after the input box;
• the horizontal padding on the input box and the span.placeholder.
