I have searched the issues of this repository and believe that this is not a duplicate.
First off, I want to say I love the app, so thank you for the great work!
Expected Behavior
I expect Caption not to show notifications/popups when in the background and my attention is not needed.
Current Behavior
Currently when Caption is opened in the background (i.e. I'm using another app in the foreground), and my network has issues, the Caption icon in the dock bounces and when I click on it I see the following error message in a popup:
Steps to Reproduce
Open Caption, with internet on
Use another app (e.g. Google Chrome)
Turn off internet. This will trigger the bounce and error message.
Context
I think it is obtrusive because my attention is not needed and there is no action to be done on my part.
I was not in the process of searching for subtitles so the information is irrelevant to me at that moment (coming from Caption).
I suggest only showing such error message when I'm actively searching for subtitles. Alternatively, have the message show as an information message without notification, e.g. perhaps at the bottom of the main Caption window.
