I cannot decode AFSK #375
Comments
I encountered a problem. When using uvk5 and uv5r, only the mobile phone can occasionally decode the signal sent by the tablet through the speaker. After using the aprs cable, it cannot be decoded. However, in the same situation, the aprspro of ios can decode normally.Who can help me |
I'm having the same issue. I can hear packets coming in over the air, but no decodes. The app is using the microphone. The blue bar across the top is getting bigger with louder sounds. But nothing is decoded. |
What radio/audio source are you using? Can you use a general-purpose record app on your cellphone to record the mic and verify that the audio sounds good? What settings are you using in the app exactly? Also, have you tried using a PC app such as UZ7HO Soundmodem to try and decode that same audio signal as a test? I have seen that some of the cheaper ham radios like UV-5R don't always switch quickly and might cut off part of the signal, especially when used on transmission which could be part of the issue. However, if you can confirm that other apps like Soundmodem correctly decode a packet then that is not the issue. |
I was using a Quansheng UV-K5. Just had the radio next to the phone, using the phone's microphone. I tried my Kenwood, that was able to decode a few packets. I then turn the squelch off the Quansheng and the packets started decoding. So the problem seems to be the squelch not opening fast enough. Thanks! |
