Slow File Transfer to Phone (resulting from a freeze once each file reaches 100%) #353

Prerequisites

Describe the bug
When transferring files to my phone, the transfer freezes for a moment after each file hits 100%. Which means that despite reported speeds of 30MB/sec+, everything is taking a tremendous amount of time to move. This is my first use of the application, so I fear I may be doing something wrong. I've tried reconnecting the phone & restarting the app multiple times to no avail & have restarted the mac. I'm using a Macbook Pro M1 Max & a Pixel 8 Pro.

I have this exact problem, first time user of openmtp, Macbook Pro 2017 Intel i7, Sony Xperia 1 V, Android 14. Took a while, after about 50% of files, the actual transfer speeds increased, but the weird pause/delay(after each file reached 100%) remained.

Yeah, that's fairly accurate to what I experienced too. I was so excited to find this software since I've been let down with Handshaker (compatibility), Pushbullet (pain to move multiple files & pricing model), and Android File Transfer (just absolute trash) in the past. Looking like this is another failed experiment for me :/

Hi @ganeshrvel, very much appreciated.
Supported when I first downloaded because I am still blown away with what an amazing job you've done with this app, so please don't think we're not grateful for this amazing thing you've done!
Is there any testing or such that would help from our end?
Thanks again!

I'm planning to rewrite the entire app to fix the gaps and problems in the current version.

I want to solve this slow file transfer rate issue before I start overhauling the app.

im willing to help in any way possible. i do have a spare phone running android 12 if that can help at all, but i understand that its possible the problem cant be duplicated under 12. if it does help, the phone on 12 is a spare that im willing to set up remote access to for debugging purposes, if thats a thing? or maybe that isnt needed, just want to offer it.

hopefully the fix makes it before the rewrite? thanks again for the amazing app!

Sorry @ganeshrvel, took a few days before I was able to test it out. Doing so currently & looks great!
100 files in 1min11sec! Great my end!
