Describe the bug
I have installed OpenMTP in my MacBook Air (M1, 2020) running on MacOS Monterey (12.3.1).

Trying to connect my mobile Galaxy M30S (Android 11).

When i try to open "Android -> media -> com.whatsapp -> Whatsapp -> Media -> WhatsApp Images" folder (which might have more than 50k files) on my mac, connection drops and i get error "Unlock your phone and refresh again".

I do not have any google drive installed in MAC. No Google Android File Transfer App installed in my Mobile

Even when i try to move this folder (Whatsapp Images) to my Mac, nothing happens.

I have also turned off the "USB Hotplug" option in OpenMTP and enabled the "Use USB-> file transfer option" on my Android.

Please note, i could copy all other file/folders using OpenMTP. It fails only while copying the Whatsapp Images folder which has more than 50k files.

See if these steps help: #270 (comment) or #276 ?

And oh yes, the Preview app has been a headache.

no :(

Tried all the steps. No luck :(

As described earlier, my issue is not related to the recognizing my phone. I could browse my phone content post connecting to OpenMTP. Only when i traverse through Android -> media -> com.whatsapp -> Whatsapp -> Media -> WhatsApp Images" folder (which might have more than 50k files), it get disconnected.

I am trying to copy the above folder to my Mac, as whatsapp google backup is also failing. So, i am not finding any other option to save my whatsapp data.

I see your are in Bangalore. I am also in Bangalore (Indira Nagar). If you are free, i can come by to your place to debug this.
