Is there a way to reduce the log output?

Not sure if I've (again) missed something in the docs but is there a way to reduce the logging put out by the scanner? I suspect for one thing it's not helping performance in the least, but also I just had a scan fail due to lack of disk space. After digging around a bit I found out where my space had gone:

Been running a few big scans this week, and our code base is large, but a 7GB log file seems like overkill?
