A way to specify a shorter URL name (as was previously available before the 1.0.0 release) would allow content authors to use long titles without worrying about long and difficult to remember URLs.
The slug front matter field (currently unused) may be appropriate here, or some other solution. Any solution should be sure to work without breaking the localization functionality.
Describe alternative solutions you've considered
Another solution (which may actually be preferable) is to refer to the fileSlug value in the permalink generation rather than slug

As page URLs are currently based on the page title (as defined in each page's front matter), some URLs are rather long.
