What is relationship (and/or difference) between this approach and Doc2Vec #1

Hello there,

It seems to me that Doc2Vec (http://cs.stanford.edu/~quocle/paragraph_vector.pdf) is also another way to model free-text.

What is the relations, if any, between two methods? Do they provide similar outputs, i.e. from free-text to numeric vectors?
