Communications with Sleuth People #42
Comments
Hi Hilary, By tomorrow lunchtime would be great. We can go over it when we meet at 2pm. Absolutely fine to add more people to Github. You can post their usernames below and we can add them as admins. However, if they just want to view the code/issues then you can send them the link to the repo (https://github.com/fac-14/sleuth-coop) and they should be able to view without being added, as this project is open source! May be easier than them creating an account. We'll have the next version ready to show you tomorrow and we can discuss having a version you can show others. Younifi looks cool, that would be an interesting challenge for another sprint 👍 |
Thank - view only is good for now.

Hi Jessie, Emma, Dominic and Joe How is it going. Shoudl I try to line up some SME people to add content to the platform tomorrow - and if so, from what time will it be in a state for them to do that? |
@developess am I neede d to come in today and if so what time? I can do morning. Not free 1-2 or 2.30 to 3. |
The govtech summit in Paris where I am hoping to pitch the prototype |
Can F&C please add [email protected] and [email protected] so that they can join in the development conversations. Any news from Emma about when she can start to work through the remaining developments? @developess |
Jessie, Joe, Dom and I have discussed the general plans for 2 more development sprints and we've written up a proposal for the features that will be covered, the timings and costs. If you could review the proposal to make sure there are no key features missing and that the costs/timings are acceptable for you that would be great. People can only be added to the project if they have a github account, once they've set up accounts I can add them straight away. I'm able to start work next monday but I'm still finding another developer to work with. There are a few who are interested and I'm just sorting specific timings out as some of them are currently doing other work or have some coming up. I'll keep you updated. |
I’ll check this out in detail tomorrow if that is OK? This is brilliant thanks for getting it all down. I have asked Ellie and alex to set up github accounts. Their emails will be [email protected] and [email protected]. I will let you know when they have set up their accounts. @SleepySheepy172 |
@SleepySheepy172 Not sure if Ellie and Alex have set up their github accounts yet but probably tomorrow? I have looked through this. Do we know how much Heroku costs? We have a board meeting on Monday so I think we can agree the first sprint there. I will confirm on Tuesday. I am thinking about how to fund the second sprint. I also think we need some access to be able to do the styling (Ellie probably). Thank you for this - yes We are in agreement that 2 developers is a good idea. |
I've set up my account now. Sorry for the delay |
@SleepySheepy172 @developess @alextpapworth Hello all we discussed the next stage of development for the Platform on Monday at our COOP board meeting and we want to go ahead with the next sprint 4 - 8 days for £2,000. In the meantime we’ll sort out getting money for the following sprint. I can line up some SMEs to test run the product after sprint 4. What date will that be as I would like to listen in to the sessions? I can’t do 29th Nov to 7th December as I am away. |
That's great. We'll be doing a few days work this week, then I'll be mentoring FAC15 3rd-7th Dec and we'll finish off the work 10th-14th Dec. So the best time for user testing would probably be 13th, would that be alright with you? |
Yes an I guess it can be done by Google Hang Outs?
Sincerely

Thanks Emma so glad you can do the next sprint. I am now thinking that the strap line for the platform is “so what’s next?” I also think we need to keep the word innovation off the platform - it has become a bit of a dirty word and what we really want express is the idea of “persistent progress”. @alextpapworth |
Definitely agree with the language. Too many words have become the must have and become devalued and meaningless. |
Hi @Hilary-Simpson and @alextpapworth , just introducing myself as I am also working on this sprint. I did Founders and Coders with Emma, but was on a different project (Read With Audrey). I'm going to be in Space4 this week and next week, so feel free to drop by if you want to discuss anything, or give me a call on 07495349895. Thanks, Ben |
Hi Ben thank you for the introduction I was on holiday last week so now back at work. If you are around I will pop in on Monday afternoon? It would be good to talk to Jessie then too. Otherwise I will call. I am on 07711758772 if you need anything. Are you still on for testing with end users (SMEs?) for next Thursday. Friday may be better for @alextpapworth and I? |
Hi Ben I will be at Space4 on Tuesday and / or Wednesday this week. Does this work for you? I can also do Thursday now. @BenNewman90 |
Hi @Hilary-Simpson , Tuesday at or after 11am would be great, or Monday from about 4pm onwards. I would prefer earlier in the week so we have time to discuss or resolve any issues before user testing. |
Tuesday works for me.

@BenNewman90 Hi Ben I am here today sitting near Polly. |
@Hilary-Simpson @alextpapworth , please test. Sign up as an SME and upload some content. https://sleuth-sme.herokuapp.com/ |
Testing feedback from me from today:
These are: Accommodation Administration, Coordination, Consultation, Events Care, Support and Counselling Calms and Complaints Control, compliance and regulation Corporate Corporate Parent Crime Prevention Debt enforcement Eligibility, Grants, Benefits and Fraud Emergency Support Fair allocation limited resources Health and Safety Information Advice and Advocacy Landlord Local Tax Personal Development and jobs Planning, Strategy, Research, Consultancy, Sustainability and Infrastructure Purchasing Registers and Public Record Keeping Transport Health and Wellbeing
General points: The system is very slow on the back key. Not sure why? We may want to suggest the video format to help the SMEs? What is the product? Alternatively, I think we should have an exemplar SME with content that the others can review to have an idea of the sort of content needed? |
Something for a further sprint - geolocating the SMEs so that Councils can see which are in their boroughs. |
Actions from today’s mini testing session: Ben will sort out the issues that meant we couldn’t load content today - before Wednesday. Hilary will book another session with Netcall for Wednesday to speak to Lynley. @BenNewman90 Ben with raise and issue summarising the user testing - @alextpapworth and @Hilary-Simpson to add anything they have picked up. Re-book user testing for SMEs for the new year. Alex / Hilary / Sleuth to decide on strategy and pull together as complete a list as posssible of the longer term development plan. User testing for Local Government people - Hilary / Alex / Raymond will come up with some options. Getting funding - ask Dan for some ideas. (Sleuth people Ask Joe about the Gaza Development going forward. |
We need to consider the business model - content will need to be curated / reviewed to ensure quality. |
Hello
I’ll get on to the spreadsheet you sent me yesterday and will get it back to you by tomorrow lunchtime. Does that fit with your timetable?
Also can you add other sleuth people to Github so that they can see what is going on?I will put their email addresses here shortly.
Also - when we have the link to the next version of the site can I share it with them all?
Finally - at some point I think. We shoudl incorporate a tool like this into the platform. A business case tool.
