How to create a sitemap file index with multiple sitemaps?

Is there any way to do it with this library? I mean something like this:

$sitemap = new Sitemap('http://mysite.com');
$sitemap->addItem('page1.html');

$sitemap->addSitemap('blog');
$sitemap->addItem('blog/page1.html');

//this should create sitemap-index.xml with sitemap.xml and sitemap-blog.xml
$sitemap->createSitemapIndex('http:://mysite.com/', 'Today');
