operational approach:

  1. git clone https://github.com/espressif/esp-adf.git esp-adf-v2.7
    2.git checkout v2.7
    3.git submodule update --init --recursive
    4.operation install.bat and export.bat
    5.cd .\get-started\play_mp3_control
    6.idf.py set-target esp32
    7.idf.py build

I have this same problem. I am simply trying to validate my install, so taking mostly the defaults. My esp-idf is working. Most of the compile works. I am using esp-adf master instead of tag v2.7. I am using esp-idf of the v5.4 release (also happened on esp-idf master but I know that is not supported). I know I don't care about this function because my eventual dev board does not have an LCD so I am going to move on. Like the poster I am also on windows.
