"CHOMPTECH DATA FORMAT 2", a possibly related format, is not readable by tttool v1.11 #294
Comments
Hi,
they look different. One of the key elements for decoding the format was
that we knew what to expect in that file. Here I have no idea. So what are
these files expected to contain?

information about "CHOMPTECH DATA FORMAT" from here, so I decided to try
tttool on them to see if it'd do anything. Unfortunately, it does not. If
anyone is interested, all of the .bmc and .bmd files listed here
<https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.jc-data.com/UploadFiles*> are
in this format. I have no idea what to do with it myself, this is way out
of my wheelhouse.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure. I'm not even sure what page of the website these files came from. I think they're e-books or something for a product similar to the Tip Toi pen, though I don't know much about any of this and the file names aren't all that enlightening. If I find more information, I'll be sure to forward it to you here. |
I did a bit more digging and while I haven't found much yet, I have found some information that could prove to be useful. For one thing, a lot of these appear to be textbooks, and some of these textbooks have both .bmc and .bmd versions archived (see 福建教育版义教实验英语4年级下第4册09版's .bmc and .bmd files). Maybe comparing the two would be a good starting point? The down.aspx pages in the site's archives may also have some useful metadata about the archived bmc and bmd files. This one has a bit of information about 福建教育版义教实验英语4年级下第4册09版 that might be helpful. Or it might not be. I don't know what goes into this stuff. |
