Way to exclude file from the zip file

Is there some way to exclude files from the zip file? For example I want to exclude the netbeans directory from the project.
I did add to node_modules/divi-scripts/config/Gruntfile.js
'!/nbproject/', in the files src section.

Is there any other way? I'm not talking about something like unzipping, remove files/folders, zip again. Something more automated.
