I think this is a fairly easy feature, which has a lot of usage. This should be implemented as soon as possible.

Can't you get this from your .i3 config?
bindsym XF86MonBrightnessDown exec xbacklight - 2%
bindsym XF86MonBrightnessUp exec xbacklight + 2%

It should be a universal terminal command, not from .i3, but yeah, I'm planning to use xbacklight

I know, I was just reminding you that as a command it's probably in your i3config.
