I'm opening this issue mostly to document a discussion around supporting .spec.ordinals.start in the nodeSet specification.

This would allow users to move selectively ES nodes in a more flexible way than today, allowing a (manual) "grow and shrink" migration pattern. This could be however perceived as an implementation leak.
