make block region configurable

Julian,

as always a magnificent piece of work with this new theme.
Would it be possible to make the block region configurable? I don't mean 2 or 3 columns (no worries) but whether you want the blocks on the left or on the right.

After all, nobody ever said that you must load side-post after the course contents (and UX navigation is still left to right).

Thanks in advance, and if it's not something you want to spend time on, I can see if I can some work done as well.

I dont quite have the time at the moment, happy to absorb code if you get it done in the meantime as I can see a few people wanting this.
