It'd be nice if there was a bit of control over which folder the data should be saved to. uls-scratch works, but it's relative to the pwd which doesn't work for all usecases.
Would a PR that adds this functionality via environment variables be welcome? 😁

Sorry for the extremely late reply on this. Haven't looked at this code in years. But I was just going through my repos and thinking about what I should update and saw there was an issue on this.
I think using an environment variable would work well with this to set the data folder and fall back to the current one of that is not set.
I'll have a look and see what I can do about modernising this as well, also updating the dependency.
