In order to generate correct AAS from Aspect Models, the resulting models need to be validated.
The best tool available from the Eclipse Digital Twin ecosystem is the aas test engines project (python based).

It shall be ensured that

  • aasx generated from every Aspect Model in esmf-test-aspect-models shall be valid according to aas-test-engines
  • the tests automatically validate against aas test engines and consider the response
  • for bugs or required features corresponding issues in the aas test engines project are created.

Context: In several cases, users have attempted to generate aasx from aspect models and use them, e.g. in the AAS Package Explorer or within Basyx. When this failed, it has so far not been very clear whether there are issues in the AAS generation of this SDK or in the other tool (or both). In order to make AASX generation more reliable a validation against the standard is required.
