how do i update?

sorry i literally just signed up to github so i have no idea how this works, and i also only got firefox today so im just kinda figuring out how that works too. also im not super techy so sorry if i sound dumb, lol

so i got echelon but the tab that im on always has a border on it, so i tried seeing if i could install the xul.dll thing but that broke the entire thing. everytime i open firefox it says i need an update and im like 100 versions behind or something so i think thats the problem, but like how do i update? i cant see anywhere on here that says so and its just telling me to go to github
