I would have loved to have a different frontpage based on the IP that the user has.
And also for example if the user IP is in Spain, the language changes to Spanish.
Is that at all posible? If yes....how?
Thanks!
I use 2.0 version with English, Spanish and Norwegian language packs installed.
@cameron: You mentioned this: "It is better to use the browsers default language, as I believe IPs are not always the best indication of country and rely on IP databases."
Well, using the browsers defalut language is also not always the best way of figuring out what language to present on the front page. I am using a Norwegian Firefox and I live in Mexico :) How about that? Just to get you more confused haha :) In the language section I have set Spanish as first language for the site and English for the admin backend :) Anyway....entering the homepage with these settings it still gives me the Spanish language and I assume it is because I set first language to Spanish. But IP wise it is correct since I live in Mexico.
Using the BING translator often gives very poor translations gramatically unfortunately.
I will be more than willing to help testing the plugin and come with feedback if wanted.
Just know that I am not that deeply knowledgable in programming technicalities :)
