The latest update (May 7th) of the RPCS3 Flatpak is not behaving as expected due to a missing dependency. If you recently updated RPCS3 and the emulator no longer launches, you will need to roll-back to the April 28th, 2023 update of RPCS3.
Here's How
- (Optional), if you have not updated EmuDeck or run a custom reset, you will need to open the EmuDeck application, click
Manage Emulators
, clickRPCS3
, and clickReInstall/Update
- This will not touch any of your RPCS3 configurations. This will switch RPCS3 from a system installed Flatpak to a user installed Flatpak
- In Desktop Mode, open Konsole
- Paste the below line, and press enter
flatpak update --commit=5e4c8f25c5c274f071ff35ee417961253b2f8105cfafa89c9ef10247a8248579 net.rpcs3.RPCS3
If you recently updated from an older version of RetroArch and you notice your games are suddenly not working, you will need to check Discover for any system updates. Updating RetroArch on its own is not enough and will prevent it from working.
After you have updated any pending system library updates in Discover, RetroArch will work again.
- In Desktop Mode, open Discover (shopping bag icon)
- Click Update (x) in the bottom left
- There will usually be a number in the ()
- Click Update All in the top right
- Wait, once the updates are finished, test RetroArch again
