Attempting to pull a Windows container image and docker is failing to pull and getting the following error:
docker pull mcr.microsoft.com/windows/server:ltsc2022
Error response from daemon: no matching manifest for linux/amd64 in the manifest list entries: no match for platform in manifest: not found
Checking Docker Desktop and confirmed it's configured for Linux containers only on my Windows system by default. When I try to switch to via the Docker Desktop icon in the system tray, the "Switch to Windows containers..." option is missing.
Attempting to use the command line to switch the environment using & $Env:ProgramFiles\Docker\Docker\DockerCli.exe -SwitchDaemon, I'm getting the following error:
& $Env:ProgramFiles\Docker\Docker\DockerCli.exe -SwitchDaemon
switching to windows engine: windows containers have been disabled for this installation
I never disabled this feature, so I clean uninstalled Docker Desktop and re-installed v4.37.1. Confirmed the "Switch to Windows containers..." option is still missing.
Reproduce
Install Docker Desktop v4.37.1 on Windows system.
Right click the Docker Desktop icon in the system tray.
Check if "Switch to Windows containers..." option is in the menu.
Expected behavior
Expecting to see the "Switch to Windows containers..." option to enable Windows container support in Docker Desktop on Windows.
