Issue running the app from index.html

I am having trouble running this app in Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge. I receive this message on all of the aforementioned (when I open the desktop version from index.html):

"%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --allow-file-access-from-files

First, this path does not exist on my computer so I can't run that command. Second, the reader works, but shows no Bibles available or anything else. The wiki is hardly clear about that...? In short, I have been trying for a long while to successfully run the desktop version in my browser, to no avail. Help, please.

ps, I may have asked a Q similar to this in the past, if so, I cannot find it anywhere. Sorry.
